Alex “the A student Ace” gets Radio Control Flying Lessons at Chollas RC Flyers San Diego!
I love helping families learn the love of aviation. Alex is 12 and about as smart as they come. He’s a great listener and has a will to be a great human being. He has a mindful drive that I like to see in kids. I do not mind teaching this kid everything I know. His Father Xavier and brother Will, are just as focused and interested. They are mechanical and absorb information like sponges. I love their enthusiasm. Xavier purchased a Horizon Hobby Aeroscout Ready to Fly from recommendation from all of us at Chollas RC Flyers. The plane has completely served its purpose and will continue to do so for many weekends to come. I would recommend the Aeroscout to anyone who is willing to spend about 3 hours of their life studying and understanding how an airplane flies and functions. The glory is almost immediate with this airplane. Buy yours at Horizon Hobby.

How to program a Sulivan 753 Smoke Pump with a Spektrum Transmitter and a flight to prove it.

This is how I program my Sulivan 753 smoke pump for making a large scale aircraft even better. I am using Sulivan Sky Smoke. This is an ExtremeFlight 104” Laser with a DLE130cc twin. I have an efficient smoke system with easy adjustment for more or less flow, and hardly any mess because it burns almost all the liquid. Comment below if you have questions or need help. Have a nice flight! Coe Show

This is a brand new 3 blade head and swashplate assembly you can buy now, or soon, from MicroHeli, for your Blade Infusion 120. The aluminum fit and finish is amazing. The blades are actually 120mm instead of 130mm so the flight performance with motor power is not inhibited. I think it flies better than it was stock, and looks and sounds cool too. @@muhammad_hasnat The 2s 450 is very light weight. I Velcro and strap it 1” from the nose on the opposite side of the esc. My receiver sits just behind the middle spar on the bottom of the wing and slotted into the fuselage. The servos are light weight Spektrum a3040’s. I center all control surfaces and fly the plane without any stability or gyros. I fly the plane upright and trim it, then fly upside down and see if it goes up or down. If I just trimmed up while flying rightside up, and I go inverted and it goes toward the ground, we know either the stabilizer is not level anymore and has up input in it, or the battery is too far forward. Once I do this, I then fly an upward inverted 45 degree angle and see if the plane maintains path. That is perfect center of gravity. Now turn on the as3x if you have it. The plane is trimmed.

    Yeah, My throttle curve in flight mode 2 is the same as flight mode one, and so's the pitch curve. There's no "Stick in the middle" there. The only difference I see between the two modes is the LED turns to blue, and the head speed goes up a little bit. These are with the stock settings on the NX-8. I wanna correct this, Just flew it and tinkered with it, and I do have the pitch travel to negative pitch in flight mode 1, or "Stunt one", but the throttle curve is set up to start at zero, same as "normal mode" Brought my head speed up to 90% and it seems to be a tiny bit better, just seems SO underpowered. I could NOT imagine handing my transmitter to you and having you fly it like you fly yours. lol Had expo on in pitch curves which I do NOT thin helped. Is this plane supposed to go on an upward climb at almost like a 60 degree angle when you have it at 50% throttle? If I do a full throttle pass in safe mode it will try to loop at much as it can with SAFE on. I have to literally hold the elevator down to make it fly straight. When you go 100% on throttle do you use the transmitter to nose down all the way to prevent it from going in a loop?

      Go to Servo Set up in radio, go to travel, go to pitch and move stick to the position you want to adjust. Sometimes travel will be like 100 for positive and 110 for negative. Another way is go Forward program, go to set up, go to AFR and increase pitch number to about 55. There is also a differential adjustment there. It kinda works sometimes. Depends on the situation. @@cutefox8319 the program is already so good, you do not ever need to mess with forward feed. I use the advanced input menu to adjust expo to -25 to -30 around there and I generally put my roll and flip rates at 390 and my agility is on the banks switch E along with gain. So I generally set high agility at 85 and middle switch position at 80 and low switch position at 75. The lower the agility the more robotic it will be without affecting the actual roll and flip rate. It just “ feels” more locked in as I go down on switch E. Generally if I fly down low in the box, I’m at high agility, and you take it out in the distance for like a fast backward hurricane, then go to the lower agility.

I have a blade 150 S that I bought and it is my favorite every day heli; all around for me right now ". the videos you did to set it up the blade 150s is amazing And every time I start flying, I'm yelling out"Coe Show 619" my wife looks at me like I'm crazy, but I really do appreciate your videos.

    I was at the Ranch in Livermore. Met Justin Coffman, while I was the smallest Heli, he tried to help me out. So did others. I am waiting for some batteries to charge so I can employ your technique. I thought I had it figured out. While hooked to my NX6, I put the Fusion 270 in rate mode. The tail or servo was drifting? Two people recalibrated my sticks. The rudder "stick" bounces between 0 and +1 on the monitor section. All others are good. My old DX6e is a rock. No fluctuating at all. Not sure if this is the issue.

    • @CoeShow619
      @CoeShow619 2 місяці тому

      @@ericcoker8784 well, if this is a stock 270, it has a AR636 flybarless unit which does not have rate mode, so you must have some other flybarless system, and as far as the monitor moving, you may be in 11ms frame rate on the nx6 and at 22ms frame rate on the old one. Either way, the 636 has a servo creep. It’s an obsolete system. It’s always gonna creep, that’s just what it does. Put a ikon2 in it and be done.

      @ericcoker8784 the only way is to turn on radio, and turn on heli, don’t touch it, let it initialize, now unplug it, but do not move it as you do unplug it. Flip it over and make sure the servo horn is as close to 90 as possible or slightly pointed toward the nose is better than being pointed at the tail. Now put the tail blades in a V and point them toward the nose of the heli. That bottom blade needs to be pointed toward the boom slightly. A 2 degree kind of tail rotor pitch. Adjust the length of the tail rotor push rod to get it right. Use the 270 manual online to set the radio properly for tail gyro. That’s all you can do.

    Good update bro. Family, mental health and faith are most important! I think about not having a local club to fly at. Then I remember these are helis. Throw down a piece of wood in any empty field and have a whirl! You might have read this before. “So do not worry about tomorrow; for tomorrow will care for itself. Forward programming was not an option for my NX eight on this helicopter. I can’t remember right now if it just didn’t show it or if it did and it just never connected. One or the other. But I was never able to get into Ford programming on mine.

      You need to plug in the helicopter with the radio on. It will appear in the model adjustments menu about half way down the list. Click on it within 10 feet of the helicopter. Wallah! There it is. So as long as we are talking about a new NX8 not a DX8. Although you could update the DX8 to see it also.

    Do you like your dle 130cc?What prop you use? Thanks

    • @CoeShow619
      @CoeShow619 2 місяці тому

      My dle130 is a great engine. It is very reliable and easy to start with standard choke and start up procedure. I use Motul 800 2t 2stroke oil at 40:1. It rips and the plugs are carmel color. I am using a Falcon 28x9.5. I believe the 28x10 is almost too much prop. It would be at like 1/4 throttle to hover. The 28x9.5 rips so I keep it below full throttle unless needed for a maneuver or tuning. It pulls harder than a DA 120 for sure. It’s in the range of the GP123. It’s definitely not the DLE we used to get 10 years ago. This new engine is very true and has nice machining. I really like it. Especially for the money. Get it at Horizon Hobby.

    • @CoeShow619
      @CoeShow619 2 місяці тому

      Umm. So small it’s over if something happens to it. Could be same as servo wire. I’m not an expert in wire gauges. You have to replace the motor and wires all at once. You may have to depin the end to get it through the boom.

    Is there a governor, or at such high RPM it doesn't matter?

    • @CoeShow619
      @CoeShow619 2 місяці тому

      The headspeed has to be high to do the aerobatics like this. You can turn it down, or up even more. It’s up to you. The Blade 150s is not governed, but does not have enough inertia to need it because of its size. I just use a flat line throttle curve to keep things simple. The rpm does not drop and if it is overspeeding , I don’t hear it or feel it, so I fly it. It rips.

    • @cutefox8319
      @cutefox8319 2 місяці тому

      @@CoeShow619 I'm looking for a small machine for practice, which wiill be large enough to perform tricks with comfort but at the same time will be small enough to handle crashes into grass without much of damage. I like low RPM and when i fly my micro (120mm blades) on low or medium RPM, during flips RPMs fall dramatically, so this is why i'm curious about a governor.

    • @CoeShow619
      @CoeShow619 2 місяці тому

      @cutefox8319 First, govern means to control rpm fluctuation. With mass, blades can overspeed, so we set rpm and use the governor function. Forget about all that. Micro heli is completely different. You just explained to yourself why the helicopter falls off and feels heavy. The Head speed is too low. Headspeed is stability. Headspeed is centripetal force. Headspeed with Pitch is lift. Think of a humming bird. It’s small. It has to flap its wings 1000 times faster than an eagle. Headspeed on a micro, 7000rpm, headspeed on a 700mm heli, 2150rpm. It’s the mass. Plus you cannot spin a 700mm blade 7000 rpm either. It would come apart. Some of this is common sense in my mind. Idk. Turn the headspeed up on a small 120 size heli. It’s always gonna be 100% flat curve in stunt 2 with something tiny. A Blade Fusion 360 3s is about the smallest low headspeed heli you can get. You set it to where it’s scientifically comfortable.

    • @cutefox8319
      @cutefox8319 2 місяці тому

      @@CoeShow619 I understand that smaller helis have to spin faster, i didn't mean to fly micro heli at speeds like 1000-2000 RPM of course. I rather meant low head speed relatively from the model's size, like, run 50-60% throttle. My micro originally came with 100mm blades but i did put 120mm blades and it gave me nice flight feeling. If it flies good at low RPM in a horizontal flight then i don't understand why there can't be used a governor for a micro to compensate RPMs loss during flips and stuff. Or there is something else i miss? I just don't like that micro heli at 100% throttle looks like a loud flying metal grinder.
